National Security Education Day

今天是全民國家安全教育日迎來第十週年。國家安全覆蓋生活的方方面面，與每一位公民息息相關。

Today marks the 10th anniversary of National Security Education Day. National security covers all aspects of life and is closely related to everyone.

升旗禮後，同學先透過國旗下的講話，認識甚麼是國家安全，以及維護國家安全的重要性。其後，同學在班主任課透過觀看影片，認識「雜交水稻之父」袁隆平，如何為中國人吃飽飯而奮鬥一生，再透過分組討論，反思糧食安全對人民的重要。

After the flag raising ceremony, students first learnt about national security and the importance of safeguarding national security through speeches under the national flag. Afterwards, students watched a film in their classroom to learn about how Yuan Longping, the ‘Father of Hybrid Rice’, struggled for his life to ensure that Chinese people have enough to eat, and then reflected on the importance of food security to the people through group discussions.

「一國」是根，根深才能葉茂；「一國」是本，本固才能枝榮。

“One country” is the root; only when the root is deep can the leaves flourish; 

“One country” is the foundation; only when the foundation is strong can the branches flourish.

讓我們一起，履行維護國家安全的義務!

Let us fulfill our obligation to safeguard national security!
